Henry will explore the various facets of feature writing for this course.
He will encourage students to get out into their environments to see, listen, touch, smell and taste their immediate world around them, and how they can translate what seems day-to-day and mundane into interesting features.
Other aspects of writing features will include the use of one-to-one interview and how to flesh out a subject; the choice of which tense to suit which particular subject matter; exercises on how to improve and sharpen up your feature writing technique and the various outlets you can explore to offer features to. All of these classes will be grounded in practical work designed to improve your chances of seeing your features in print.
