The Irish Writers' Centre is hosting an information day on publishing. The day will feature talks with Novelist Emer Martin, Editor Deirdre O'Neill, Literary Agent Yvonne Kinsella, Easons Fiction Buyer Stephen Boylan and Literary Publicist Helen Gleed O'Connor.

The day will start at 10.00am with registration and run until 4.30pm. Tickets are €60 (€50 for Members) and can be booked by paying online or calling the Centre.

Helen Gleed O'Connor is a publicist at Gill Hess Ltd, a Publisher's Agent whose clients include Random House, Transworld, Simon & Schuster and Faber & Faber. She has worked in the publishing industry for over 15 years which began with a summer job at The Book Service and went on to include positions at Simon & Schuster in London and Poolbeg and TownHouse in Dublin. In her current position as publicist at Gill Hess Ltd. Helen is responsible for publicity campaigns for Irish authors and those visiting from other countries which involves planning and managing their Irish publicity schedules. She has worked with celebrity chefs, sports personalities, former Prime Ministers and awarding novelists and enjoys every minute of it.

Yvonne Kinsella runs a successful literary agency with her partner Patricia Prizeman. Founded in 2009, the agency has already secured a number of lucrative book deals both in Ireland and the UK and optioned three books for the film industry.

Yvonne has worked as a journalist and reviews books for tv and radio. She is also a TV producer and her media background means she knows exactly what film and tv companies want when it comes to books for dramatisation or authors for interview.

Having written and ghost written five books to date, all true life stories, she understands the process of publishing only too well and knows what it takes to get the attention of publishers.
