Room Hire

The Reading Room is a large function room boasting original ceilings and adorned with art from the Buckley Collection. It is ideal for readings, meetings, launches, and seminars. The Reading Room is composed of two adjoining rooms; the second room can be used to serve refreshments or to seat extra guests. We also have four smaller classrooms available for meetings, writing groups and other purposes.

Our regular opening hours are Monday to Thursday, from 10.30am until 9.30pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30am until 5.30pm. Room bookings outside these hours incur an additional charge, see rates below.

  • For Literary Events: If your booking falls on a Friday night there is a minimum charge of €250, if it falls on a Saturday night there will be a minimum charge of €300. If the event runs past 9.30pm an extra charge will be incurred of €60 an hour.
  • Wine can be purchased for €14 a bottle, alternatively you can bring your own wine. If you are providing your own wine you must take the empty bottles with you at the end of the event.
  • Coffee and Tea can be provided, there is an additional charge of €25 for up to 25 people, if you are expecting 25-50 people there is a charge of €50. For over 50 people we recommend hiring external catering.
  • If food is being served there will be an additional charge of €50 for clean up.
